The chief of the state-funded Stockholm Mosque, Mahmoud Khalfi, describes the executed Quran burner, Salwan Momika as ”a criminal” and burning the Quran as ”a heinous crim” in a speach published in Youtube since 2023. In his speash carries effectively out a character assassination of Momika.
Khalfi is a dialogue partner for the Swedish Prime Minister and the Archbishop of the Church of Sweden. He is also the chairman of the Islamic Association in Sweden, which has strong ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.´
On their website, the following is stated:
”The Islamic Sharia constitutes a divinely prescribed message and guidelines with the primary goal of promoting the best for humanity… It is correct that the system includes a limited number of severe punishments for certain types of crimes…”
In this context, it is valuable to mention the Sharia legal principle (fard kifayah), which can be applied in cases of blasphemy. This principle means that Muslims who feel called or chosen can carry out the sentence on behalf of all other Muslims.
Given the content of his speech, Swedish authorities, including the police and prosecutors, should investigate whether his remarks constitute a crime. The Islamic Association and other Muslim communities have repeatedly demonstrated that they provide guidance in accordance with Sharia. The Swedish state should cease funding these communities, and the Church of Sweden should halt its dialogue with anti-democratic organizations that disguise themselves as religious groups.

I would like to begin by warmly congratulating Muslims worldwide on a blessed holiday. I wish to comment on the burning of the Quran during the Muslim holiday yesterday
in front of the grand mosque in Stockholm. This act is considered barbaric and reactionary, marked by brutality, and reflects a sick and hateful soul that disregards sacred things or people’s feelings, instead reveling in their pain and suffering. We know that every action has its purpose and meaning,
but this deed is absurd and meaningless. It benefits no one and is solely negative and harmful,
even for the criminal himself. I affirm that this criminal act is solely intended to harm Muslims…”
